LEXINGTON, Ky. - The University of Pittsburgh women's soccer team dropped a narrow 1-0 contest to the Kentucky Wildcats this afternoon at the UK Soccer Complex.
"I was pleased with our effort today," said Pitt head coach Greg Miller. "We've worked a lot on defending during our preseason and I thought you could tell that we played much more organized on the defensive end than on the offensive side of the ball."
"Playing a high quality opponent like Kentucky exposes a lot and gives us a lot to work on going into our first game of the season," Miller continued. "However, as I said earlier, I was happy with the effort today. We're looking forward to getting back out on the practice field and getting back to work before we start our season at Duquesne in a little over a week."
The Panthers open their regular season at Duquesne on Sunday, Aug. 25 and begin their home slate against Bucknell on Friday, Aug. 30.
