ATHENS, Ohio – Natasa Radosavljevic and Ana Greik made sure DePaul’s high-powered offense remained in high gear on Friday.
Radosavljevic’s two goals in 60 seconds and Greik’s first collegiate score sparked the Blue Demons to a 3-1 nonconference victory over Ohio.
Greik scored in the 19th minute after a cross from Elise Wyatt in the box left her with a clear shot at the Bobcats net. Ohio (0-2-1) scored in the 36th minute for a 1-1 tie at halftime.
Radosvljevic scored the winning goal on a nice cross from Erin Pekovitch in the 54th minute. She added the insurance score a minute later on a rebound of her own shot.
That gave DePaul (2-1-0) seven goals in the last two matches.
“We are happy we were able to grind out a good road win,” said DePaul coach Erin Chastain. “We scored three great goals and had a lot of people contribute.
“We were able to limit their team in the run of play and had to defend a lot of corner kicks as earning corner kicks seemed to be their game plan. It was a good test for our team, and I'm happy with the result.”
The Blue Demons made the most of their opportunities, scoring on three of their four shots on goal. Meanwhile, DePaul goalkeeper Alejandria Godinez made seven saves.
DePaul will be looking to keep up the attack on Sunday when it faces College of Charleston at 1 p.m. in the home opener at Wish Field.
