DALLAS – DePaul was leading SMU 1-0 on Thursday night when heavy storms and lightning had officials cancel the nonconference match.

The Blue Demons had scored in the 12th minute on a goal by Elise Wyatt. The sophomore forward fired in a shot from 35 yards out into the lower left corner of the Mustangs’ net.

DePaul came out on the attack and had five shots on goal in the first 17 minutes. The game was stopped in the 21st minute, and there was a two-hour weather delay before the match was called.

DePaul (5-1-1) returns to action on Sunday with a 1 p.m. match against North Side rival Loyola at Loyola Soccer Park.
