No. 6 Georgetown surrendered two first half goals and No. 18 Marquette added two more in the second half en route to a 4-0 loss on Sunday afternoon at the Valley Fields in Milwaukee, Wis.
The loss ends a 13-game unbeaten streak to start the season as the Hoyas fall to 11-1-2 overall and 3-1-1 in the BIG EAST Conference, while Marquette improves to 12-3-0 and 5-0-0 in the league.
"You tip your hat to Marquette, they were clearly the better team today," Georgetown Head Coach Dave Nolan said. "It was one of those games where they scored at times when we felt we had a chance to get back into it. I'm not disappointed with our effort, but they showed why they they are atop the league right now."
