Charlyn Corral Earns Top Drawer Soccer Preseason Honors

Louisville, Ky. - Louisville senior midfielder Charlyn Corral earned preseason honors by Top Drawer Soccer on Thursday. Corral was one of 33 players selected to Top Drawer Soccer's Preseason Best XI Teams. She was named to the third team she was one of three players from the American Athletic Conference selected among the 33 standout athletes.

Corral was ranked 31st in the Top Drawer Soccer Women's Top 100 Players. Three Cardinals were named to the list. Senior Angelika Uremovich was ranked 81st and senior Christen Exeter was ranked 92nd.

Corral tallied 19 points last season, including eight goals in BIG EAST play. She had 52 shots in 11 league games, more than any other BIG EAST player. Corral had a point in seven of 11 BIG EAST games and overall, she amassed a team-high 23 points, including eight goals and seven assists. This summer Corral helped lead Mexico to a silver medal in the World University Games, scoring 10 goals in six matches.

Uremovich will sit out this season with a medical redshirt after tearing her ACL in the spring. She led the Cardinals last season with nine goals on the season to go with two assists. She tallied two goals in a game twice last season. In her three seasons as a Cardinal, Uremovich has 18 career goals and eight total assists while playing in 60 matches overall.

Exeter scored one goal and added one assist in 2012 despite being limited in her game action. The international standout missed the first two weeks of the season while playing for the Canadian National Team at the 2012 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup in Japan. She also missed the final five games of the season due to injury.
