Women's Soccer Minute - Seton Hall Sails Along

Updated BIG EAST Release in PDF

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Six teams are unbeaten, including five with a perfect winning record. Seton Hall (4-0-0) is among that group and is off to its best start ever.

Sophomore Kristina Meier scored twice in the first half to lead The Hall in a 3-0 win over Monmouth University on Tuesday night at home. A complete recap can be found here.

It is the first time the Pirates have won four-straight games to open a season and just the second time SHU has remained unbeaten through four contests. In 1998 the Pirates started the year with three wins and improved to 4-0-1 before suffering their first set back.

As impressive is the fact that Seton Hall has not allowed a goal all season. The Pirates entered Tuesday night's match with shutouts in all three prior games, which tied the longest shutout streak to start a season in program history.

BIG EAST women's soccer teams return to action on Friday night with 14 matches. The league is a combined 36-12-4 for a .731 winning percentage.
