Two BIG EAST women's soccer teams begin conference play on Thursday night. In the battle of I-71, undefeated Louisville (6-0-0) hosts Cincinnati (5-1-1). It will be the 26th all-time between the UofL and UC with the Cardinals trailing 7-17-1 overall. Last year, the Bearcats picked up a 2-0 win in Cincinnati to halt Louisville's six-game winning streak in the series.
West Virginia (3-3-0) hosts Pittsburgh (3-4-1) in the women's soccer version of the Backyard Brawl. The Mountaineers are 11-2-1 all-time against the Panthers, including a 6-0 mark at home. The two teams played to a 1-1 double overtime draw last season in Indianola, Pa.
In men's soccer, USF (2-1-1) looks for its third consecutive win as the Bulls take on No. 9/9 Ohio State as part of the Embassy Suites Kickoff Classic hosted by Florida Gulf Coast. This is the first ever meeting between to the two programs.
Volleyball also has one contest slated for tonight as Pittsburgh hosts No. 9 Washington at 7:00 p.m. in the Pitt Blue and Gold Tournament. This is the third ranked opponent the Panthers have faced this season, posting an 0-2 record so far against top 25 teams.
Cincinnati travels to N.C. State in football action tonight to battle the Wolfpack at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN. This is the first trip for the Bearcats to Carter-Finley Stadium and the first meeting between the two programs.
