Scouting the Musketeers
Xavier enters BIG EAST play with a record of 7-1-1, including an undefeated record at home (4-0) and seven shutouts. The Musketeers have already surpassed their win total from the 2012 season, in which they finished 6-12-1
The Musketeers have been led offensively by the freshmen tandem of Maggie Hare and Tori Doss, who have combined for six goals and five assists, including three game-winning goals
A Cincinnati native, junior goalkeeper Katie Markesbery has been a stalwart in goal for Xavier so far this season, leading the BIG EAST - and 45th in the NCAA in Saves per game (5.57), third in the conference and 35th in the NCAA in save percentage (.867) and is tied for the league lead in shutouts (5).
Xavier is led by head coach Woody Sherwood who is in his fourth season as the Musketeers head coach with a record of 27-32-5. A former four-year letterwinner at Xavier and a 1991 graduate, Sherwood was an assistant for three years with the Indiana Hoosiers before becoming head coach in Cincinnati.

Poulin's Career Night
Freshman goalkeeper Diana Poulin recorded a career-high 14 saves in a scoreless draw with Dartmouth on Sept. 20, posting up her third shutout of the 2013 season.
With her performance, Poulin earned her second BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors on Sept. 23.
Poulin now leads the BIG EAST in both GAA (.257) and save percentage (.943) and is ranked fourth among all Division I women's soccer goalkeepers in GAA.
Daly Leads in three NCAA statistical categories
In the NCAA statistical rankings through Sept. 22, sophomore Rachel Daly leads the nation's Division I players in three offensive categories.
Daly leads the NCAA in points per game (3.0), goals per game (1.375) and goals (11).
Her 24 points rank third among all Division I women's soccer players and No. 1 in the BIG EAST Conference.
SJU's shut-down "D"
The Red Storm back line of Sarah Ashmore, Hailey Hemmer, Rachel Hoffman and Georgia Kearney-Perry and starting goalkeeper Diana Poulin have allowed just two goals in 740 minutes of action.
St. John's will open BIG EAST Conference action at home against Creighton next Sunday, Sept. 29 at 1 p.m. The game will be carried live on ESPN 3.
