SOUTH BEND, Ind.—The Pitt women’s soccer team plays its third consecutive top-10 ranked team when it travels to No. 5 Notre Dame for an Atlantic Coast Conference match on Sunday, Sept. 29. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. ET at Notre Dame’s Alumni Stadium.
Pitt (4-6-1, 0-5-0 ACC) enters its sixth conference game following losses to two consecutive top-5 ranked teams in No. 6 North Carolina (1-0 on Sept. 26) and No. 1 Virginia (3-1 on Sept. 22). The Panthers played well against both North Carolina and Virginia. Sophomore Roosa Arvas (seven points/two goals) and junior Alex Charlebois (two goals) lead the Panthers in scoring. Goalkeeper Nicole D’Agostino has matched her career-high with 10 saves in each of the following three games against Clemson, Virginia and North Carolina. She owns a 1.21 goals against average and has made 60 saves in 11 games and 969 minutes on the year.
No. 5 Notre Dame (8-1-0, 4-0-0 ACC) is on a five-game win streak following consecutive victories over Detroit (4-0), North Carolina State (3-1), North Carolina (1-0), Syracuse (1-0) and Maryland (5-0). Lauren Bohaboy (13 points/five goals), Crystal Thomas (11 points/two goals/seven assists) and Morgan Andrews (nine points/four goals) are the leading scorers for the Fighting Irish. Goalkeeper Kaela Little owns a 0.46 goals against average and has made 27 saves in nine games this year.
Pitt and Notre Dame have met 11 times in women’s soccer. Notre Dame owns a 10-0-1 record vs. the Panthers.
