FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. The Bearcats are 6-8-0 on the year and 2-2-0 in American Athletic Conference play. UC is two wins away from garnering eight wins on the year, which the program has only accomplished three times in the last 10 seasons. They also seek their third league win, which would be the most for the program since 2009.

2. UC has one of the youngest starting lineups in the country as they start six freshmen, who are the top Bearcats in minutes played with each logging over 900 minutes. Redshirt freshman Natalie Smith has assumed the role of the starting goalkeeper the last seven matches after splitting time to begin the year. Smith has gone 5-2-0 with a pair of shutouts since being named the number one keeper. The Bearcats offense is widespread with 11 players having a goal on the year. Jae Atkinson, Mackenzie Reynolds and Danielle Rotheram are the team leaders in points with seven each, while Reynolds is the goals leader with three.

3. UCF enters the weekend on a nine-game unbeaten streak. The Knights, who were named the preseason conference favorite, are 10-2-1 on the year and 3-0-0 in the AAC. UC is 1-2-0 all-time versus UCF, but the two have not met since 1987. The Knights won the last meeting 5-1 in Orlando.

4. USF is 7-2-3 on the year and 2-1-0 in league play. The Bulls carry a two-game winning streak into the weekend and play Louisville two days before taking on the Bearcats. UC holds an 8-7-1 all-time record versus USF with the last meeting being in 2011, which ended in a 1-1 draw. The Bearcats have not defeated the Bulls since 2008.

5. Three of the Bearcats’ last five matches are at home. Along with playing at Gettler Stadium this weekend, UC hosts Louisville on October 25 for Senior Night. Cincinnati’s last two road matches are next weekend versus UConn and Temple.
