MILWAUKEE--For the second consecutive week senior defender Emily Jacobson has been named the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week, while sophomore goalkeeper Amanda Engel and junior Mary Luba have been selected to the conference honor roll following a 2-0 week for the Golden Eagles.

Jacobson anchored MU's backline and was a key factor in a pair of 1-0 shutouts on the road at Seton Hall and DePaul last week. She made several key stops in the game against the Pirates en route to her second consecutive accolade.

Engel is honored by the conference for the fourth week in-a-row as she earned a spot on the honor roll, recording two shutouts in net last week. Engel did not allow a goal and recorded seven saves in the two games, including five at DePaul.

Luba earns her first BIG EAST accolade of the season after she played a role in both of Marquette's goals last week. She handed out the assist on freshman Liz Bartels' game-winning goal at Seton Hall and then scored the game-winning goal in an unassisted play at DePaul on Sunday.

The Golden Eagles are 14-3 overall and own an undefeated 7-0 mark in league action with just two regular season games remaining. MU will host Providence on Sunday, Oct. 27 at 1 p.m. before hosting Butler on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 5:30 p.m. on Senior Day.
