PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Following a 1-0 upset win over No. 12/14 Georgetown on Oct. 19, a pair of Villanova standouts earned the final BIG EAST women's soccer weekly awards. Wildcats junior Jami Kranich earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors, while freshman teammate Emily Damstrom was named the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week. Louisville junior Charlyn Corral earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Marquette senior Ally Miller was named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week.
Kranich earned BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week honors after totaling five saves in a 1-0-0 week. The junior had four of her five stops, in the second half as Villanova upset No. 12/14 Georgetown on Oct. 19. Kranich anchored the VU defense that kept the nation's 11th-ranked offense scoreless. It was the team's first win over Georgetown since Sept. 1, 2007.
Damstrom was cited as the BIG EAST Rookie of the Week after she scored the gamewinner in a 1-0 victory over No. 12/14 Georgetown on Oct. 19. It was just her second goal of the year and only the second goal Georgetown has allowed in league play. The victory also helped Villanova secure a home game in the first round of the BIG EAST Championship.
Corral earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors after totaling three points in a 1-0-0 week. The junior factored into both scores in a 2-1 double-overtime victory over Cincinnati on Oct. 19. Corral scored the game-tying goal in the 70th minute and assisted on the game-winner. The win clinched the No. 3 seed in the BIG EAST Championship and a double-bye for the Cardinals. Corral has scored five goals in the last five games.
Miller was tabbed BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Golden Eagles in a 1-0-0 week. Miller anchored a backline that did not allow a shot on goal in a 4-0 win over USF on Oct. 20. The Bulls managed just one shot (wide left in the 24th minute) in the contest. It is the third time Miller has earned the honor this season. Previously she was cited on Aug. 20 and Sept. 3.

Scored the first two goals in a 3-2 double-overtime win over Providence on Oct. 20.
BIG EAST CHAMPIONSHIP - The 10-team BIG EAST women's soccer championship field has been set and play will begin on Thursday, Oct. 25. Georgetown and Marquette captured the regular-season division titles and No. 1 seeds in the tournament to earn byes to the quarterfinals on Oct. 28.
DePaul plays at Villanova in a first-round matchup, with the winner advancing to play Georgetown. Rutgers is at Connecticut in the other first-round matchup, with the winner moving on to face Marquette.
Notre Dame also earned a share of the National Division regular-season crown, but will be the No. 2 seed after Georgetown won a matchup between the teams on Oct. 12. The Irish will host Syracuse in the quarterfinals on Oct. 28.
USF will host Louisville in the final quarterfinal matchup on Oct. 28. The Bulls and Cardinals played to a 1-1 draw on Sept. 30.
