BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Daphne Corboz, Georgetown, M, Jr. – Corboz registered six points in 4-0 victories over Creighton and St. John’s. In the win over the Bluejays, she played a part in three goals, with a goal and two assists. The BIG EAST Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, Corboz scored one goal against the Red Storm.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

Emily Jacobson, Marquette, D Sr. – Jacobson was a key factor in a pair of 1-0 shutouts on the road for the Golden Eagles. Marquette defeated Seton Hall and DePaul. She was particularly effective against the Pirates, making several stops. The Golden Eagles are in first place in the BIG EAST with a 7-0-0 mark.

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week

Emma Newins, Georgetown, GK, Jr. – Newins helped the Hoyas to 4-0 shutouts over St. John’s and Creighton. She made a season-high seven saves in the win against the Red Storm and had one save against the Bluejays. Newins has posted eight shutouts this season.

BIG EAST Rookie of the Week

Sarah Cortes, Seton Hall, F, Fr. – Cortez helped the Pirates defeat Villanova 5-0 by assisting on three of the five goals, though she did not start the game. Seton Hall was 1-1 for the week.

BIG EAST Honor Roll

Sophia Maccagnone, Butler, MF, Jr.
Scored her third game-winning goal of the season in a 1-0 victory against Xavier. It was her ninth goal of the year.

Mary Luba, Marquette, M, Jr.
In a pair of 1-0 road victories, scored the goal at DePaul and assisted on the goal at Seton Hall.

Amanda Engel, Marquette, GK, So.
Made a total of seven saves in 1-0 wins at Seton Hall and DePaul. Had five saves in the DePaul victory.

Rachel Daly, St. John’s, F, So.
Scored her league-leading 16th and 17th goals of the season in a 3-2 overtime win at Providence. The Red Storm were 1-1 for the week.



Emily Damstrom, Villanova, M, So.
Scored both goals in a 2-0 win against Creighton. The Wildcats had a 1-1 week.
