Women's Soccer Earns First Round Bye in American Athletic Conference Tournament

The inaugural American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship seedings were set on Sunday, with Louisville securing the No.2 seed and a first round bye. The Cardinals will host the quarterfinal round on Sunday, Nov. 3 at 4:30 p.m. in Cardinal Park. Louisville will play the winner of the opening round matchup played between No. 7 seed Memphis (11-7-0, 4-5-0 American) and No. 10 seed Houston (1-11-3, 0-9-0 American) on Friday, Nov. 1 in Cardinal Park at 7:00 p.m.

Louisville (12-4-1, 8-1-0 American) finished second in the regular-season standings behind UCF. Louisville secured their spot following a 5-4 overtime thriller over Cincinnati on Friday. Heading into the Championship, senior midfielder Charlyn Corral is The American's individual points leader, tied for first in the league with 13 goals and standing alone at the top with 36 points, averaging 2.12 per game.

The 2013 American Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Championship will culminate in Orlando, Fla. as host UCF will serve as the site for the semifinals and title game of the tournament. The semifinals will be held on Friday, Nov. 8 at 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and both games will be streamed on TheAmerican.org. The title game is set for Nov. 10 at Noon and will be streamed live on ESPN3.
