Women's Soccer Minute - Four BIG EAST Teams Alive in the Second Round

Four BIG EAST women's soccer teams are in to the Seconr Round of the NCAA Championship, Georgetown, Marquette, Notre Dame and Rutgers. The Golden Eagles, who won their first BIG EAST tournament title, earned the league's automatic berth. The Hoyas, Irish and Scarlet Knights were at-large selections. It is the second straight year the league has had four teams in the tournament.

 

The BIG EAST went 4-0-0 in the opening round of the tournament, the first time since 2004 it has posted a perfect record. It is the eighth time overall the league has advanced all its teams to the next round, also occurring each season from 1994-99.
