A Record Four BIG EAST Women's Soccer Teams Play In NCAAs This Weekend

CREATING HISTORY -
Four BIG EAST women's soccer teams have advanced to the Third Round of the NCAA Championship for the first time in league history. All four teams will be on the road this weekend. The league had a record three teams advance to the quarterfinals in 2007; UConn, Notre Dame and West Virginia.

NCAA CHAMPIONSHIP BERTHS - The BIG EAST Conference has totaled 22 NCAA Championship berths over the past four years to average almost six teams a season. In addition, the league has seen a team (Notre Dame) advance to the College Cup in each of the last four years.

BIG EAST CONFERENCE - A BIG EAST team has advanced to the College Cup 11 times in the past 15 years (since 1995). In addition, a BIG EAST squad has played for the women's soccer national championship eight times, including four appearances in the last seven seasons. The BIG EAST has claimed a pair of women's soccer national titles (Notre Dame in 1995 and 2004).
