PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore designated player Mary Connolly of DePaul was selected BIG EAST Softball Player of the Week and junior Sara Nevins of USF was named BIG EAST Softball Pitcher of the Week in the ninth weekly awards of the 2013 campaign.
Connolly led the Blue Demons to a 5-0 week as DePaul outscored its opponents 65-17. The sophomore was 9-for-14 (.643) with a 1.286 slugging percentage and .706 on-base percentage. She recorded 12 RBI, two home runs, one double, one triple and scored seven times. In a 15-6 win against Syracuse, Connolly went 2-for-3 with a three-run home run and two-run triple.
Nevins went 3-0 on the week with a 0.36 ERA. She threw a no-hitter against Pittsburgh April 6 with 12 strikeouts and only two walks. During the week, she threw 19.1 innings in the circle and allowed just one run (earned) on three hits and struck out 25 batters. She also picked up a save.

Batted .647 (11-for-17) with a .647 on-base percentage. Hit four doubles and scored four times in a 2-2 week.

Went 2-0 with a 1.40 ERA and struck out 15 batters in 10 innings. Batted 7-for-8 (.875) from the plate with a 1.000 slugging percentage and .875 on-base percentage.
Hannah Kiyohara, Louisville, Jr., OF
Hit .545 (6-for-11) with a .909 slugging percentage during a 4-0 week which included a win over No. 20/21 Kentucky 5-1.
Jenna Simon, Notre Dame, So., 2B
Batted .533 (8-for-15) with one double, one triple and scored six times during a 4-1 week.
Alexis Durando, Rutgers, Jr., 1B
Was 9-for-17 (.529) from the plate with a 1.059 slugging percentage during a 3-2 week.
