PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore Emilee Koerner of Notre Dame was selected BIG EAST Softball Player of the Week and teammate, junior Laura Winter was named BIG EAST Softball Pitcher of the Week in the 13th and final weekly awards of the 2013 season.
Koerner led the Fighting Irish offensively to a 4-1 week which included a BIG EAST regular season title and a No. 1 seed at the BIG EAST Championship. The sophomore hit .467 (7-for-15) with two doubles, one home run, three RBI and six runs scored. She posted an .800 slugging percentage and a .556 on-base percentage. In Game 1 against No. 9/9 Louisville, Koerner went 2-for-2 with a home run, two walks, and a team-high three runs scored. She had a leadoff single and scored the first run of the game in the series finale against the Cardinals, as Notre Dame won 3-1 to claim its 14th BIG EAST regular season championship.
Winter earned her third straight weekly award for her performance in the circle. The junior posted a 4-0 record during the week with a 1.75 ERA. In the three-game series against Louisville to determine the BIG EAST regular season champion, Winter went 2-0 with two complete game efforts and allowed 13 hits against the No. 9 nationally ranked Cardinals. The junior also excelled at the plate with a .533 (8-for-15) batting average, 1.200 slugging percentage and .563 on-base percentage.

Recorded an .813 slugging percentage with two home runs, six RBI and scored seven times in a 3-2 week.
