Softball Minute - USF Eliminated from NCAA Championship with 2-0 Loss to Florida

No. 25/22 USF was eliminated from the NCAA Softball Championship Sunday with a 2-0 loss to No. 2/2 Florida in Gainesville, Fla. BIG EAST Pitcher of the Year Sara Nevins gave up one hit and struck out six in 6 1/3 innings and All-BIG EAST Third Team selection Lindsey Richardson struck out one of the two batters she faced. Nevins and Richardson finished the season as the Bulls' only pitching pair to collect more than 200 strikeouts in the same season.

Last year, USF defeated Florida in the Gainesville Regional and advanced to the 2012 Women's College World Series. However, a repeat performance in 2013 was cut short Sunday as the Bulls finished the year with a 45-16 overall record and 18-3 BIG EAST mark. USF's season also featured its first BIG EAST Championship title in program history.
