Lola Arslanbekova Named BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week for the Second Consecutive Week.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Louisville junior Lola Arslanbekova led the Cardinal volleyball team to a 2-0 week and was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Cincinnati's Caylin Mahoney was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for her play as the Bearcats also went 2-0.
Arslanbekova averaged 6.71 kills per set for Louisville as the Cardinals earned conference victories over DePaul and Notre Dame. She notched double-doubles in both matches, gaining her sixth and seventh of the season. Arslanbekova leads the league in kills averaging 4.93 per set with 286 on the season. This is the second consecutive week she earned player of the week honors and third time this season she has won the award.
Mahoney earned freshman of the week honors for the first time. She totaled 96 assists in victories over Notre Dame and DePaul, averaging 13.71 per set. Mahoney ran the Bearcat offense, which hit .320 over the course of the weekend. Her 10.81 assists-per-set average ranks third in the league.
