Lola Arslanbekova Named BIG EAST Volleyball Player of the Week for the Third Consecutive Week.




 PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Louisville junior Lola Arslanbekova led the Cardinal volleyball team to a 2-0 week and was named BIG EAST Player of the Week. Marquette's Chelsea Heier was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week for her play as the Golden Eagles also went 2-0.
 
Arslanbekova averaged 6.67 kills per set for Louisville as the Cardinals earned straight-set conference victories on the road over Seton Hall and Rutgers. She averaged 20 kills in two matches and hit at a .349 clip. Arslanbekova leads the league in kills, averaging 5.09 per set with 326 on the season. This is the third consecutive week she earned player of the week honors and fourth time this season she has won the award.
 
Heier earned freshman of the week honors for the second time. She totaled 69 assists in sweeps over Georgetown and Villanova, averaging 11.50 assists per set. She helped the team to a .255 hitting percentage and 13.67 kills per set. Her efforts helped Marquette remain unbeaten in league play while the team has won 12 of its last 13 matches.
