PROVIDENCE, R.I. - A pair of California natives claimed the season's final BIG EAST volleyball weekly honors. Notre Dame junior Kristen Dealy earned BIG EAST Player of the Week for the first time this season and the second time in her career. Villanova freshman Alyssa Anderson was named Freshman of the Week for the fourth time this season. The BIG EAST Volleyball Championship is set for Nov. 19-21 at Fitzgerald Field House in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Dealy, a native of Santa Barbara, Calif., earns BIG EAST Player of the Week honors after helping the Irish to a pair of wins last week and the No. 5 seed in the BIG EAST Championship. Dealy led the conference last week with 5.17 kills per set while ranking ninth with 4.00 digs per set. The junior notched 11 kills and nine digs in a 3-0 win over Rutgers on Nov. 13 and followed that with a 20-kill, 15-dig performance against Seton Hall on Nov. 14. It was Dealy's fourth career 20+ kill output and 28th double-double. She is one of just a handful of Irish players to knock down 20+ kills in a three-set match and the first since 2006.
Anderson, a native of Hermosa Beach, Calif., earns BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors after leading all freshmen with 11.57 assists per set. She helped the Wildcats clinch the No. 4 seed in the BIG EAST Championship with wins over Georgetown on Nov. 12 and USF on Nov. 14. Anderson had 30 assists and seven digs against the Hoyas and followed that with 51 assists and six digs against the Bulls. The freshman ranked fourth in the conference last week with 11.57 assists per set.
Cincinnati claimed its second BIG EAST regular-season crown with a 13-1 conference record. The Bearcats will be the No. 1 seed in the tournament. All matches except the championship match will be streamed live for free on www.bigeast.tv. The title match will be broadcast live on ESPNU at 3:30 p.m.
Cincinnati is ranked No. 18 in the latest AVCA poll. It is the highest ranking for a BIG EAST team since 2007 when St. John's also reached No. 18. Louisville is one of two teams in the country with two players in the national top 50 in blocks per set. Dayton is the other. The BIG EAST is also the only conference in the country to have five teams ranking among the top 50 in overall winning percentage. Syracuse freshman Lindsay McCabe is third in the country among freshman in hitting percentage (.390).

Helped Pitt clinch the No. 6 seed with two wins, going for 17 kills and seven digs vs. UConn and 14 kills and seven digs vs. STJ
Rebecca Murray, Connecticut, Sr., MH/OH
Recorded a pair of double-doubles, reigstering a career-high 23 kills in a five-set win over WVU.
