NEW YORK  –  Travel partners Villanova and Georgetown and St. John’s and Seton Hall were in action against each other last night in BIG EAST volleyball action. The Wildcats swept the Red Storm, 3-0, on the road to advance to 3-2 in league action; while Seton Hall defeated Georgetown in four sets at home. Villanova has won their last three contests, Seton Hall has won their last two and is tied with Villanova at 3-2.
 
Unbeaten Teams Meet Thursday Night At The Al McGuire Center
Thursday night continues with BIG EAST volleyball action as the two undefeated teams, 5-0 Marquette and 4-0 Creighton square off in Milwaukee, home of the 2017 BIG EAST Volleyball Championships presented by Jeep. Streaming for Thursday is available to those will a Spectrum Cable subscription and Friday's match will be produced by the Marquette Wire and can be streamed for free on College Sports Live or viewed through the College Sports Live app, available for iOS through the App Store or for Android devices on Google Play. Marquette is currently riding a six-game winning streak going into Thursday’s match. Creighton enters Thursday's match ranked No. 12 in the AVCA Coaches Poll and checks in eighth in the first RPI of the season. Creighton leads the series 11-3. The last time Marquette won was Nov. 30. 2013.

Villanova 3, St. John's 0 (25-18,26-24,25-23)  
Villanova freshman Mallory Potts finished with 12 kills on a .357 hitting percentage as the Wildcats swept St. John’s on the road. Allie Loitz also had 12 kills for Villanova along with eight digs. St. John’s Julia Cast had a match high 14 kills on Wednesday night, setter Erica DiMaulo had 35 assists.

Seton Hall 3, Georgetown 1 (25-18,17-25,25-21,25-16)  
Seton Hall junior Abby Thelen had a match-high 18 kills and just one attack error in the 3-1 win for the Pirates. Thelen connected at a .500 attack percentage, while Seton Hall as a team registered a season-high .310.  The victory moves the Pirates over the .500 mark in BIG EAST play at 3-2. Dominque Mason finished with 14 kills and six digs. Prior to the match, Seton Hall presented head coach Allison Yaeger with a commemorative volleyball for her 100th career coaching victory, recorded on Saturday vs. Providence. Seton Hall collected a season-high nine service aces in the match. Georgetown’s Symone Speech led the Hoyas in kills with 14. Alyssa Sinette and Riley Wertzberger had double digit kills as well with 12 and 10, respectively.
