NEW YORK – Marquette continues to dominate the league, winning its eighth straight match to go 7-0 in BIG EAST play. The Golden Eagles have lost just on set in the current streak. Marquette’s latest victim was Providence on Friday night. No. 12 Creighton bounced back from a loss at Marquette with a sweep of DePaul. Seton Hall swept Xavier to extend its current winning streak to three matches and Butler defeated St. John’s in four sets.
On the schedule for Saturday night is St. John’s at Xavier, Villanova at Georgetown, Seton Hall at Butler and Providence at DePaul. Both Creighton and Marquette are finished for the weekend, having played a Thursday match.

Seton Hall junior Caitlin Koskaa recorded a season-high 14 kills as the Seton Hall women's volleyball team swept Xavier, 3-0 (25-21, 26-24, 25-23), on Friday for its third straight victory. The victory improves Seton Hall to 4-2 in the BIG EAST, its best conference start through six matches since 2014. Pirate sophomore Maggie Cvelbar had a double-double with 21 assists and 11 digs. For Xavier, Maya Krause led with 13 kills.

No. 12 Creighton 3, DePaul 0 (25-10,25-9,25-13)
Creighton hit a blistering .476 in the win, the third-best mark in program history. That included a staggering .818 in the first set (18 kills, 0 errors, 22 swings) that ranks as the best mark on record. Creighton improves to 12-5 with the victory, including a 5-1 league mark, just 23 hours after having its 28-match BIG EAST win streak snapped at Marquette. DePaul dropped to 7-11 and is 1-5 in league action. Marysa Wilkinson finished with 10 kills to lead the Bluejays. Brittany Witt had 17 digs. DePaul hit .000 on the night, finishing with 18 kills and 18 errors in 89 swings. The Blue Demons also had one ace, 27 digs and four blocks. Brittany Maxwell paced DePaul with five kills, while Haley Bueser added seven digs.

Butler 3, St. John's 1 (25-27,25-21,27-25,25-21)
Butler dropped the first set against St. John's on Friday night, but would come back to win three-straight to claim a 3-1 win (25-27, 25-21, 27-25, 25-21). A total team effort lifted Butler to victory as four student-athletes ended the match with a double-double performance. Natalie Ravenell, Anna Logan and Brooke Gregory all shared the team lead in kills tonight with 13. Whitney Beck was just one short of that with 12 kills and 10 digs. Joining Beck with a double-double was Ravenell with 13 kills and 10 digs and Logan with 13 kills to go along with 12 digs. The final double-double was posted by setter Makayla Ferguson who tallied 49 assists and 13 digs. For St John’s Kayley Wood and Julia Cast each had 12 kills.

Marquette 3, Providence 0 (25-13,25-23,25-21)
Marquette sophomore Allie Barber led the attack with 15 kills, followed by Anna Haak's Marquette career-high 14 and Jenna Rosenthal's 13 kills. Marquette hit .378 and combined for 41 digs, while holding Providence (13-7, 2-3) to just 27. Lauren Speckman notched 43 assists and Hope Werch had a team-high 11 digs to go with her five kills. Providence’s Addison Root led the Friars with nine kills.
