NEW YORK  –  Villanova extended its winning streak to four matches with a sweep over travel partner Georgetown on Saturday night. St. John’s defeated Xavier in five sets, while Butler and Providence swept Seton Hall and DePaul, respectively.
 
Butler head coach Sharon Clark hits milestone win No. 300 at Butler with the 3-0 win over the Pirates. It was also the annual pink game, drawing more than 600 fans to historic Hinkle Fieldhouse.
 
St. John's 3, Xavier 2 (26-28,25-23,24-26,25-20,16-14)  
In a thrilling and tightly contested match all night at the Cintas Center, St. John’s fell behind 1-0 and again at 2-1, but rallied back to win the final two sets of the match for an incredible 3-2 (26-28, 25-23, 24-26, 25-20, 16-14) come-from-behind victory to notch its first triumph over Xavier in school history. For the Red Storm, Danisha Moss and Julia Cast had a match high 19 kills each. Moss hit .424. Freshman Kayley Wood added 16 kills. For Xavier, Maya Krause had a team-best 15 kills. Also in double-digit kills was Alexis Newsome (12) and Lauren Frilling (10).

Providence 3, DePaul 0 (25-20,25-19,25-19)  
Providence’s Addison Root was the team leader in kills for the match as she recorded a total of 18. Cayla Veverka was not far behind with 13 kills. Friar setter Allison Barber recorded a double-double for the Friars as she tallied 41 assists and 13 digs. Megan Onyundo was the team leader in digs for the night as she had 14 on the night. As a team, the Friars recorded 51 kills and 57 digs. For DePaul, Brittany Maxwell led with 15 kills on .419 hitting. Providence evened its league record at 3-3. DePaul falls to 1-6.

Butler 3, Seton Hall 0 (26-24,25-20,25-20
The Bulldogs posted a .339 attack percentage in the victory. Bri Lilly and Anna Logan were a big part of that by hitting .526 and .357 respectively. Lilly notched 11 kills on just 19 attempts with one error. Logan was also very efficient by claiming her team-high 13 kills on 28 attempts. Logan was in the box score with a double-double by adding 11 digs. Setter Makayla Ferguson just missed a double-double with 42 assists and eight digs.  For Seton Hall, Caitlin Koska led for the second-straight game in kills with 13. Abby Thelen had 11. Both the Bulldogs and Pirates have 4-3 league records.

Villanova 3, Georgetown 0 (25-22,25-19,25-12)  
Amanda Pedersen-Henry finished with 14 kills on a .600 hitting percentage as Villanova defeated Georgetown 3-0 (25-22, 25-19, 25-12) for their fourth straight BIG EAST win on Saturday night. All four wins in the Wildcats win streak has been decided in three straight sets. In addition to Pedersen-Henry, Villanova freshman Mallory Potts had eight kills. Allie Loitz had seven kills, 11 digs, 3 aces. Georgetown was led by Symone Speech with nine kills. Villanova advanced to 4-2 in league play, third behind Marquette and Creighton. Georgetown fell to 1-5.
