BIG EAST teams go 4-0 on Friday night, averaging over 83 points in high-scoring victories.

NR/RV Villanova 62, Lehigh 42
Villanova improved to 2-0 on the year with a 20-point win over local foe Lehigh in a game played at the PPL Center in Allentown, Pa. Through two games, the Wildcats have yet to trail and are averaging a 19-point margin of victory. Mary Gedaka and Adrianna Hahn scored 13 points apiece to lead the Wildcats, who limited the Mountain Hawks to just 23-percent shooting. Villanova welcomes No. 11/12 Duke to Jake Nevin Field House on Sunday.

Butler 70, Lipscomb 58
Butler moved to 3-0 on the young season for the first time since 1990-91 by defeating Lipscomb on Friday night 70-58. The Bulldogs erased a seven-point halftime deficit in the opening stages of the third quarter to get back into the game. Butler would outscore Lipscomb 27-4 in the third frame to take control of the action. They opened the third on a 15-0 scoring run. Tori Schickel notched a double-double of 15 points and 17 rebounds, the most caroms by a BIG EAST player this season.

St. John’s 92, William & Mary 81
Behind a school-record 36 points in the third quarter, St. John’s improved to 2-0 for the first time since the 2014-15 campaign with a 92-81 victory over visiting William & Mary on Friday night. For the second-straight game, five Red Storm players scored in double figures, led by junior Akina Wellere and freshman Qadashah Hoppie’s 21-point efforts. Wellere scored 17 of her 21 in the second half on 5-of-6 shooting from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 effort from the free throw line in 18 minutes in the latter stanza.

RV/20 DePaul 110, Delaware State 71
Friday’s scoring parade was headed by Ashton Millender who scored a career-high 27 points and also had career bests with 10 field goals and seven 3-pointers.  She finished 10-of-12 from the floor that included 7-of-9 from deep. There were five other Blue Demons (2-1) in double figures with Chante Stonewall, Tanita Allen and Dee Bekelja contributing 14 points each and Rachel McLimore scoring 13. Mart'e Grays added 11 points. The Blue Demons have now scored 221 points in two games. They are averaging 103 points per game this season. DePaul will face Saint Louis today at 5 p.m. ET
