Kelly Jekot scores a career-high 23 points as Villanova upsets No. 11/12 Duke in home opener.

After Duke’s Leaonna Odom scored on a lay-up on the first possession of the second half to give her team a 30-22 advantage, the Wildcats went on a 14-0 run to take a 36-30 lead with 4:30 remaining in the third quarter, a lead they would not look back on. The Wildcats picked up the 64-55 victory over the nation’s 11th-ranked squad to improve to 3-0 on the season, with Kelly Jekot pacing Villanova with a career-high 23 points and seven 3-pointers, while senior guard Alex Louin finished the day with 17 points, nine rebounds, four assists and four steals. The win over No. 11/12 Duke is Villanova’s highest since topping No. 4 Notre Dame on Jan. 9, 2005.

16/19 Marquette 83, Loyola (Md.) 63
No. 16/19 Marquette led by as many as 24 points as it rolled past Loyola (Md.), 83-63, in its Sunday-matinee home opener at the Al McGuire Center. Allazia Blockton led five double-digit scorers for Marquette with 19 points. The junior was joined by Danielle King (13 points, seven assists and four steals), Isabelle Spingola (13 points), Erika Davenport (12 points, 10 rebounds) and Lauren Van Kleunen (12 points). The Golden Eagles were able to get to the rim early and often in the first half, as the team compiled 21 fast break points and 16 points off turnovers.

Creighton 64, NR/RV Nebraska 49
Led by 20 points and nine rebounds from sophomore Jaylyn Agnew, Creighton won at NR/RV Nebraska 64-49 on Sunday. The win was the Bluejays' first in Lincoln since the 1993-94 season, moving Creighton to 2-1 on the year. Creighton did not trail in the contest as the Bluejays traded buckets to open the game, then used an 11-0 run to seize control in the opening quarter. The win also marked the first time since 1993-94 and 1994-95 that Creighton has posted back-to-back victories over Nebraska.

George Washington 65, Georgetown 54
Georgetown dropped a 65-54 decision at George Washington Sunday afternoon. Senior Cynthia Petke led three Hoyas in double figures with 14 points, while junior Dionna White chipped in 11 and senior Yazmine Belk provided 10 points. Petke had her third double-double in as many games as she also had a squad-best 16 rebounds. White added eight boards and senior Mikayla Venson pulled down four. The Hoyas tallied eight blocks with five credited to Belk. White and senior DiDi Burton both managed four assists apiece.
