The Wildcats improved to 5-0 on the year with a five-point win over American in Burlington, Vt. Villanova thwarted off a comeback bid by the Eagles, who whittled a 24-point deficit to four over the final minutes. Kelly Jekot sank a free-throw with 26 seconds remaining to increase Villanova’s lead to two possessions and clinch the win. Jekot finished with 14 points, while Adrianna Hahn led the Wildcats for the second straight game with 16 points.
3/2 South Carolina 76, St. John's 58
Despite trimming a once-23-point deficit to just nine with 3:30 left in the fourth quarter, St. John’s bid to upset No. 3/2 South Carolina in the semifinals of the Gulf Coast Showcase fell just short as the Red Storm dropped a 76-58 decision to the defending national champions. Akina Wellere scored a team-high 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the floor in 30 minutes before fouling out late in the fourth. The Red Storm (3-1) outscored South Carolina (6-0), 8-2, in second chance points and forced the Gamecocks to commit a season-high 18 turnovers.

Seton Hall 85, Rider 49
Seton Hall (3-1) rolled to the championship round of the SHU Thanksgiving Classic with a dominant 85-49 win over Rider (0-5) in Semifinal. Donnaizha Fountain and JaQuan Jackson combined for 39 points to lead the way for The Hall. In a tremendous two-way performance, the Pirates held the Broncs to 28.1 percent shooting from the floor while connecting on a 50.0 percent clip themselves. The Hall built its lead early and took a double-digit lead after a quarter and was up 18 at the break. The Pirates continued their strong play into the second half, exploding for a 34-point third quarter to swell their lead to as many as 42 late in the third.

Chattanooga 54, Georgetown 41
Georgetown fell, 54-41, to the Chattanooga Mocs (4-3) at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in the second game of the Challenge in Music City. With the loss, the Hoyas fall to 2-3 on the season. Dionna White was the lone Hoya in double figures with 12 points. The Hoyas outrebounded the Mocs, 34-31, but shot just 29.8 percent (17-for-57) in the game. Chattanooga hit 47.6 percent (20-for-42) with three players in double figures and combining for nine 3-point field goals.

RV/21 DePaul 88, Gonzaga 71
Sparked by Kelly Campbell’s bid for a triple-double with 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists, RV/21 DePaul played their best game of the tournament in an 88-71 victory over Gonzaga. Five other Blue Demons finished in double figures with Tanita Allen posting 15 points, five rebounds, five assists and three steals while Ashton Millender also scored 15 points. Mart'e Grays added 12 points while Amarah Coleman and Chante Stonewall scored 10 apiece. DePaul (5-2) made 17 of 30 three-pointers---nearly 57 percent from deep.

5/4 UCLA 72, Creighton 63
Despite a strong effort that led to a 24-17 lead after one period, the Creighton fell to #5/4 UCLA 72-63 in the second game for both teams at the South Point Tournament. The loss dropped the Bluejays to 3-3 on the season, while UCLA moved to 5-1. Jaylyn Agnew led the Bluejays with 15 points in the loss, while Audrey Faber and Temi Carda posted 13 and 12 points respectively.

Drexel 76, Butler 62
Butler ended the 2017 Paradise Jam with a 76-62 setback to Drexel in game five of the tournament. Butler played four games in six days over Thanksgiving break, including three-straight at Eastern Florida State College. Whitney Jennings scored a game-high 28 points to lead Butler (4-3) in the scoring column for the fifth time this season, while Tori Schickel racked up her BIG EAST-leading fourth double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
