Seton Hall 73, Jacksonville State 54
Seton Hall took home the 2017 SHU Thanksgiving Classic crown with a convincing 73-54 victory over Jacksonville State at historic Walsh Gymnasium. Three Pirates scored in double-figures for The Hall, who claimed their 18th title in the 26th iteration of the Thanksgiving Classic. The frontcourt duo of Taylor Brown and Shadeen Samuels both had huge days for the Pirates in an extremely physical battle with JSU. Brown led all scorers with 19 points and added eight rebounds, three assists and three steals, while Samuels notched her first career double-double and tied a career-high with 18 points along with a career-best 11 rebounds. Joining them in double-figures was JaQuan Jackson, who poured in 18 points to secure Thanksgiving Classic MVP honors

Georgetown 55, Northwestern 54
Georgetown held on with a gutsy performance to defeat Northwestern, 55-54, at the Nashville Municipal Auditorium in the final game of the Challenge in Music City. With 13 seconds left to play Georgetown called timeout to set up a final shot which would go to Tatiana Thompson in the corner. She drove the lane and was fouled on the final shot with less than a second to go. Thompson sank the first free throw to pick up the victory. For the game Dionna White led the way with 20 points as well as four rebounds and six 3-pointers. Mikayla Venson had 17 points and four rebounds, while being named to the all-tournament team. Cynthia Petke notched another double-double with 13 points and 10 boards.

17/16 South Florida 68, St. John’s 59
Taking on a ranked opponent for the second-straight game, St. John’s fell to No. 17/16 South Florida, 68-59, to finish fourth in the Gulf Coast Showcase at Germain Arena. For the fourth time in the first five games of the season, St. John’s had at least four players score in double figures. Sophomore Andrayah Adams led the way with team-best 15 points in a career-high 38 minutes of action. Qadashah Hoppie added 12 points, while Maya Singleton posted her fourth double-double of the season with 11 points and 11 rebounds. Akina Wellere chipped in 11 points and four assists before fouling out in the fourth.
