A record-setting night for Maya Singleton leads St. John’s to an overtime victory over Big 12 foe Kansas.

St. John’s 65, Kansas 53 (OT)
Highlighted by a 24-rebound performance from Maya Singleton, St. John’s defeated Big 12 foe Kansas, 65-53, in overtime on Monday night at Carnesecca Arena. Singleton’s 24 rebounds matched a 41-year old program record set by Mary Doyle against Brooklyn on Jan. 19, 1976. Singleton also scored 14 points and added three steals for her seventh double-double of the season in just ten games. Following a pair of long reviews in the closing seconds, the game was sent into overtime. In the overtime, St. John’s dominated by outscoring Kansas, 14-2, and holding the Jayhawks to a 0-for-7 effort from the field and forcing a pair of turnovers. Monday’s win also marked the first time in program history that St. John’s (7-3) has played in back-to-back overtime games, coming off a double-overtime thriller versus Fordham last week.
