Sixteen #BEfutbol Players Named To United Soccer Coaches All-Region Teams

KANSAS CITY, Mo.  – The BIG EAST was well represented on the United Soccer Coaches All-Great Lakes Region teams. The United Soccer Coaches honored 16 BIG EAST players with six on the first team, four on the second team and six on the third team.
 
Four schools (Butler, Creighton, Georgetown and St. John’s) boasted players on the All-Great Lakes Region First Team. Butler and Georgetown had two on the first team.
 
All of the BIG EAST’s regular season major award winners earned a spot on one of the all-region teams. BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Year Eric Dick (Butler) and Co-Offensive Players of the Year Brandon Guhl (Butler) and Ricky Lopez-Espin (Creighton) and Midfielder of the Year Harry Cooksley (St. John’s) were named to the first team. BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year David Enstrom (St. John’s) and Freshman of the Year Derek Dodson (Georgetown) earned third team accolades.
 
BIG EAST Regular Season Champion Butler led the league with five players honored. Six BIG EAST teams were represented.
 
The United Soccer Coaches All-America Teams will be announced on Thursday, Dec. 7.
