BIG EAST teams post a perfect 5-0 Sunday, capped off with a quadruple overtime thriller for the Bluejays.

25/24 Villanova 79, St. Joseph’s 44
No. 25/24 Villanova led wire-to-wire and tallied a convincing 79-44 win over Saint Joseph’s. In the win, Kelly Jekot scored a career-high 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting, including a 2-of-6 effort from three-point range. She also had a game-high six assists, five rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Mary Gedaka finished with 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, while Jannah Tucker was 5-of-10 from the field and 3-of-7 from three for 13 points.

Providence 65, Rhode Island 41
Providence defeated intra-state rival Rhode Island, 65-41, in the consolation game of the Ocean State Tip-Off Tournament. Jovana Nogic scored each of her game-high 17 points in the first half, while Maddie Jolin chipped in 14 points, six rebounds and three assists for the Friars. Eleven of her 14 points came in the second half. Providence led the match wire-to-wire and had nine of its 11 players featured in the game crack the scoring column.

St. John’s 74, NR/RV Miami 64
For the fifth time in seven games St. John’s (5-2) had at least four players score in double figures as Tiana England, Akina Wellere, Qadashah Hoppie, Maya Singleton and Andrayah Adams all eclipsed the 10-point mark. As a team, the Red Storm shot 45.2 percent (28-for-62) from the floor. Defensively, the Johnnies held Miami (5-3) to 36.2 percent (21-for-58) from the field. Additionally, the Johnnies forced Miami to turn the ball over 23 times, matching a season-high for the Hurricanes. St. John’s led for over 33 minutes of the contest and by as many as 13, thanks in part to scoring 24 points off those 23 Miami miscues.

Butler 56, Illinois State 45
The Bulldogs picked up their fifth win of the season by defeating Illinois State 56-45. BU outscored the Redbirds 17-5 in the first quarter to take a commanding lead that would hold until the final buzzer. Michelle Weaver, Tori Schickel, and Kristen Spolyar all shared the team lead in scoring as each tallied 12 points. Butler's defense was the story of the game as BU limited Illinois State to just 25-percent shooting from the field.

Creighton 108, Drake 100 (4OT)
Playing in her hometown, Audrey Faber dropped a career-high 34 points to guide the Bluejays to a 108-100 quadruple overtime win in at Drake. Along the way Faber became Creighton's 27th player to pass the 1,000-point plateau. Faber's 34 points led all scorers, while Sydney Lamberty and Jaylyn Agnew finished with 21 and 20 respectively. Temi Carda posted her first career double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Lamberty also posted a double-double with 12 boards. It was just the second time in school history that Creighton needed quadruple overtime to decide a contest as the Bluejays also bested Loyola-Chicago in four overtimes, 117-108, on Jan. 12, 1986. The 108 points scored by the Bluejays was tied for the seventh most in school history. Drake entered the contest with the nation’s third-longest active home winning streak, dating back to February 2016.
