No. 22/20 Villanova remains perfect with a road victory over Fairfield

22/20 Villanova 73, Fairfield 44
The No. 22/20 Wildcats improved to 8-0 on the season with a convincing 73-44 road win at Fairfield. Adrianna Hahn was sensational in the early going as she scored 14 of Villanova’s 16 first-quarter points. Hahn was 5-of-5 from the field and 4-of-4 from three in the opening 10 minutes. Overall, Hahn scored a game-high 21 points while Bridget Herlihy scored a career-high 19 on 7-of-10 shooting and a 4-of-6 performance from long distance. For the game, Villanova shot over 49 percent from the field while holding Fairfield to a .257 clip, including just 17.4 percent from three.

Bowling Green 63, Xavier 53
Xavier dropped a 63-53 road contest at Bowling Green on Wednesday afternoon at the Stroh Center. The Musketeers moved to 4-3 on the year, while the Falcons improved to 7-1. A'riana Gray and Princess Stewart led the Musketeers' offense with 10 points each. The two freshmen combined to go 9-for-15 from the floor. Deja Ross scored nine points on three 3-pointers, while Kindell Fincher added eight points in her second game back from a knee injury.

Quinnipiac 62, Providence 36
Providence fell at Quinnipiac, 62-36, Wednesday night at TD Bank Sports Center. The Friars fall to 6-4 overall with the loss, while the Bobcats (ranked 14th in the latest NCAA RPI) improved to 5-3 overall with their fifth-straight win. The Friars, who entered the game shooting 46-percent from the field and were ranked second in the nation in three-point percentage (46-percent), were never really able to get it going on the offensive end, going just 2-18 from beyond the arc. Ny-Asia Franklin matched her career high in scoring with 14 points on 7-9 shooting from the field, and also contributed a team-best eight rebounds and two assists.
