NEW YORK - Xavier was the lone team in action on Tuesday night, losing 3-1 to Miami Ohio in the Musketeers home-opener in the Cintas Center.

Xavier (3-1) dropped its home opener on Tuesday night, falling to Miami (Ohio) in four sets as Kristen Massa posted a career-high 19 kills to go along with 17 digs, her second double-double of the season. The senior outside hitter also added three aces. Xavier had seven more aces (7-0) than Miami and three more blocks (13-10). Senior Lauren Frilling led Xavier with six blocks. Miami of Ohio finished 42nd in the 2016 RPI and was an at-large berth from the MAC to the NCAA Tournament field.
