NEW YORK – On Saturday, Marquette has extended their conference record to 3-0 after a sweep of St. John’s. Seton Hall defeated DePaul also with a sweep and even its BIG EAST record at 1-1. Butler took the first match against its travel partner Xavier with a four-set victory.
Sunday features two more volleyball matches, with the first one on BEDN at 1 p.m. with Providence and Georgetown facing off, followed by Villanova at Creighton at 2 p.m. ET.
Seton Hall 3, DePaul 0 (25-23,25-23,25-20)
Seton Hall senior Dominique Mason recorded a season-high 17 kills as the Pirates collected its first BIG EAST victory of the season, a 3-0 win at DePaul on Saturday. The victory snapped a six-match losing streak for the Pirates and improves them to 7-8 overall and 1-1 in conference play. Mason finished the match with eight digs to go along with her 17 kills. Caitlin Koska had a season-high 12 kills and a match-high .391 attack percentage. The win was the 99th in the coaching career of Seton Hall head coach Allison Yaeger. DePaul was led by Brittany Maxwell with 13 kills and 11 kills by Claire Anderson. DePaul falls to 1-2 in league play, 7-8 overall.

Marquette 3, St. John's 0 (25-15,25-18,25-12)
Sophomore Allie Barber led Marquette's attack with 14 kills and a .478 hitting percentage, while junior Anna Haak tallied 11 kills and hit .429. Freshman Elizabeth Orf and redshirt junior Jenna Rosenthal also had stellar hitting nights with a .667 clip and .625 mark, respectively. Sophomore Lauren Speckman handed out a match-high 39 assists, while Haak and freshman Martha Konovodoff collected nine and eight digs apiece.

Butler 3, Xavier 1 (25-18,25-27,25-17,25-18)
The Bulldogs moved to 1-1 in BIG EAST Conference action with a 3-1 victory at Xavier on Saturday afternoon. Butler freshman Rachel Klitzing erupted for a career-high 15 kills. Klitzing paced the offensive attack with 15 kills on just 21 attempts. She only committed one error to post a .667 attack percentage. Defensively she led the team with a match-high six blocks. The Bulldogs used a balanced attack to defeat the Musketeers. Anna Logan came up with 10 kills, Natalie Ravenell and Bri Lilly were each in the box score with nine, and the duo of Brooke Gregory and Whitney beck combined for 16 with each student-athlete collecting eight. For Xavier, Morgan Finn and Katie Shunk led the Musketeers with nine kills each. Finn also posted a team-best .320 hitting percentage.
