Blockton’s last-second layup fends off Butler’s upset bid and keeps RV Marquette undefeated in league play.

RV/RV Marquette 69, Butler 67 
With just 0.8 seconds left in regulation Natisha Hiedeman found Allazia Blockton under the basket as Marquette secured another BIG EAST victory. The win improves MU's first-place league record to 6-0, its best start to conference play in program history. The Golden Eagles (12-5, 6-0 BIG EAST) were led in scoring by Blockton with 25 points. The game saw five ties and six lead changes, including four in the final quarter. Butler (11-7, 3-3) was led by Tori Schickel’s eighth double-double of the year with 12 points and a game-high 13 rebounds. The Bulldogs erased a once-15-point Marquette advantage and led by four with under two minutes to play, but two late-game turnovers proved pivotal.

RV/RV Villanova 67, Seton Hall 59 
Seton Hall (10-8, 2-5 BIG EAST) led 42-38 after three quarters when Villanova (14-2, 4-2) started the fourth on a 15-2 run to take a 53-44 lead with 4:31 remaining. Mary Gedaka scored 10 of the 15 points during the spurt en route to her 16 points on the night. Six consecutive SHU points brought the game back down to a single possession, but Kelly Jekot scored seven points down the stretch to clinch the win. Jekot finished with a team-best 21 while Seton Hall’s Donnaziah Fountain scored a game-high 28 and gathered 13 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the season.

NR/RV DePaul 79, Xavier 48 
The Blue Demons led wire-to-wire at Wintrust Arena for their third consecutive win and sixth victory over the last seven games. DePaul (13-5, 5-1 BIG EAST) saw 10 players reach the scoring column including a game-high 18 points by Mart’e Grays, who has scored in double figures in all six BIG EAST contests this season. Kindell Fincher led Xavier (8-9, 1-5) with 10 points and five rebounds.

St. John's 64, Georgetown 41 
The Red Storm held an opponent under 50 points for a fourth time this season and stretched their winning streak to four games with a home victory over the Hoyas. St. John’s (11-7, 4-3 BIG EAST) saw four players score in double figures, including a team-high 15 points by Qadashah Hoppie. Georgetown (7-9, 2-4) was led by Dionna White’s game-high 16 points. The Hoyas forced 18 Red Storm turnovers but were limited to 27.3-percent shooting in a defensive battle.
