No. 18/15 Marquette challenges No. 6/6 Mississippi State until the end, while St. John’s and Villanova pick up wins.

St. John’s 56, Yale 52
Tied at 52 with just under two minutes to play, St. John’s (6-2) battled back and downed Yale, 56-52, at Carnesecca Arena on Thursday. Qadashah Hoppie, Alisha Kebbe and Akina Wellere all three paced the field for the Red Storm, netting 12 points each. Kebbe scored the go-ahead three-pointer with 22 seconds left before Tiana England added an insurance free-throw with under 10 seconds to play. The Bulldogs were limited to .295 shooting and committed 20 turnovers. St. John’s shot over 40 percent from the floor (.407) for the second time in three games.

Villanova 60, George Washington 45
The Wildcats (6-2) never trailed on the road on Thursday night and led by as many as 18 thanks to a trio of double-digit scorers. Adrianna Hahn tied for the game high with 18 points, including a 6-of-9 clip from deep, adding five boards and three assists, while Mary Gedaka dropped 13 points and grabbed nine boards and Jannah Tucker chipped in 11 points. The win was Villanova’s third straight, holding its third consecutive opponent under 50 points. Hahn moved past Katie Davis and into second place on Villanova's all-time made three-point field goal list with 252 career triples

6/6 Mississippi State 87, 18/15 Marquette 82
It was a back-and-forth contest as No. 18/15 Marquette stormed into Starkville and gave No. 6/6 Mississippi State a fight it had not seen this season. The lead changed 25 times and was tied eight as the Golden Eagles fell, 87-82 at Humphrey Coliseum. Danielle King led Marquette (6-2) with a season-best 27 points as Natisha Hiedeman (18), Allazia Blockton (17) and Amani Wilborn (10) also scored in double digits.  Wilborn tallied her second career double-double grabbing 10 boards.
