Alex Louin led Villanova with a double-double of 12 points and a career-high 14 rebounds.
RV/RV DePaul 73, Xavier 72
A potential last-second game-tying three-pointer by Xavier’s Kindell Fincher was over-ruled after an officials review and DePaul came away with a 73-72 victory at the Cintas Center. A pair of clutch free throws by Lauren Prochaska with 28.9 seconds left and two more by Kelly Campbell with 6.1 on the clock had given the Blue Demons a 73-70 lead. The review of Fincher’s step-back attempt showed her right toe was on the three-point arc. Mart’e Grays and Ashton Millender each scored 16 points to pace DePaul (20-6, 12-2). Amarah Coleman had 10 points and reached 1,000 points for her career. Campbell came close to a triple-double finishing with nine points, 14 rebounds and nine assists. Leading the Musketeers, Anniina Äijänen scored a game-high 18 points on 7-for-9 shooting, one point away from matching her career high. She added four rebounds, three steals and two assists. The win gives DePaul the season series against the Musketeers while extending its BIG EAST-leading winning streak to six games.
