After opening the fourth on a 6-0 run, Marquette exploded for a 31-point quarter to run away from the visiting Wildcats. The Golden Eagles (18-8, 12-3 BIG EAST) shot 68 percent in the frame and nearly 53 percent on the afternoon to seal the win. Natisha Hiedeman scored a season-high 26 points to lead MU, while Villanova (20-6, 10-5) was led by Alex Louin’s 20-point, four-rebound effort. The game went back-and-forth for the opening three quarters, with 10 ties and 10 lead changes before Marquette’s decisive final 10 minutes.

Georgetown 86 RV/24 DePaul 85
The Hoyas pulled off their second win over a first-place team this season and first over a top-25 squad since Feb. 18, 2014. The victory marked GU’s first win over DePaul since January 23, 2010, and also marked the first time since joining the BIG EAST that the Hoyas have defeated DePaul in Chicago. Dionna White went for a career-high 33 points to lead Georgetown (12-13, 7-8 BIG EAST), while DePaul (20-7, 12-3) once again posted a balanced attack of five double-digit scorers, including 19 points from Ashton Millender. Morgan Smith supplied the go-ahead bucket for the Hoyas, giving the Blue Demons nine seconds to respond. Amarah Coleman’s game-winning attempt rimmed out, before Millender’s last-second putback fell just off the mark.

Butler 69, Providence 48
The Bulldogs used impressive second and fourth quarters to escape Providence with a win on Friday night, halting a six-game skid in the process. Butler (14-14, 6-10 BIG EAST) outscored the Friars (9-18, 2-13) 22-8 in the second and 20-10 in the fourth despite Providence winning the first and third by a combined 30-27 margin. Butler’s Michelle Weaver led all scorers with 20 points, making 7-of-10 attempts from the field and 3-of-6 from deep. The Friars were led by Jovana Nogic’s 10 points.

St. John’s 75, Seton Hall 56
Alisha Kebbe scored a career-high 20 points to lead the hot-shooting Johnnies to a win over visiting Seton Hall. The teams traded baskets over the first five minutes before the Red Storm found their groove, posting 20-plus points in each of the first three quarters thanks to .565 shooting. Kebbe made 7-of-8 from the field to lead St. John’s (16-11, 9-7 BIG EAST), while the Pirates (15-12, 7-9) saw Nicole Jimenez score 17.

Creighton 65, Xavier 54
The Bluejays used a 14-6 fourth quarter to thwart Xavier’s bid for a win in Omaha. The Musketeers had a nine-point first-half lead before Creighton (16-9, 10-5 BIG EAST) limited Xavier (9-18, 2-14) to 22 second-half points to pull away. Four Bluejays scored in double figures, led by Sydney Lamberty’s 13 points and nine assists. Xavier’s Na’Teshia Owens scored a game-high 15 points.
