Villanova wins third in a row by holding off rival Georgetown at Jake Nevin.

Villanova 68, Georgetown 67
The Wildcats maintained their hold on third place in the BIG EAST standings by holding off visiting Georgetown in front of a sold out crowd at Jake Nevin Fieldhouse. Villanova shot 51 percent on the game, making it three consecutive games which the Wildcats have shot over 40 percent from the field, all resulting in wins. Mary Gedaka led Villanova with 17 points and nine boards in 28 minutes off the bench, while the Hoyas saw two players eclipse 20 points – Mikayla Venson (23) and Dionna White (21). White added five steals and five rebounds. Villanova led by eight with 2:24 remaining before the Hoyas closed the contest on a 12-5 spurt, with all 12 points from White and Venson. Alex Louin went 1-of-2 from the free-throw line with five seconds left, which proved to be the deciding bucket as the Hoyas could only score a layup as time expired.
