BIG EAST teams combined for a 3-3-1 mark on a busy Thursday night, highlighted by DePaul’s 3-1 win over RV Illinois and No. 15 Georgetown’s double-overtime scoreless draw with No. 11 Duke. Also of note, Providence improved to 3-0 on the year with a 2-0 win at Hartford, while Seton Hall picked up its first win of the season with a 1-0 edging of Loyola (Md.). DePaul’s Morgan Turner took over the scoring lead in the BIG EAST this season with her fourth goal of the year, with her strike in the 51
st minute proving to be the game winner over the Fighting Illini. GU’s Arielle Schechtman picked up her second shutout of the season with eight saves against the Blue Devils, while PC’s Shelby Hogan extender her shutout streak to over 287 minutes dating back to last season with her third clean sheet of the year. Hogan made four saves for the Friars while Amber Birchwell provided the unassisted game winner in the 25
th minute. For the Pirates, Eva Gonzalez buried a penalty kick in the 72
nd minute, while Anna MacLean made six saves to lead The Hall to the win.
Additionally, all three setbacks in the BIG EAST last night were by one goal on the road, including St. John’s at Syracuse (1-0), Xavier at Northern Kentucky (1-0) and Marquette at Michigan (3-2). Carrie Madden scored twice for the Golden Eagles, the Red Storm outshot the Orange 9-4 but lost on a first-half penalty kick, while NKU scored with just 15 seconds left in regulation in the heartbreaker for the Musketeers, who also won the shots battle, 12-6.

Creighton is the lone BIG EAST team in action before Sunday as the Bluejays visit Air Force at 8 p.m. ET on Friday. Creighton has just one game under its belt so far, a 2-0 setback at Iowa on Aug. 19. Sunday is packed with games as six squads take the pitch, highlighted by RV Butler hosting No. 20 Notre Dame at 1 p.m. The match will stream live on the BIG EAST Digital Network. The Bulldogs earned a scoreless draw against the Fighting Irish last season in South Bend. Xavier also takes on a top-25 team when it visits No. 13 Tennessee (1 p.m.), while No. 15 Georgetown will look to remain unbeaten when it hosts Yale (1 p.m.). Additionally, Seton Hall hosts Stony Brook (1 p.m.), Villanova welcomes Lehigh (5 p.m.) and Marquette welcomes RV Milwaukee to Valley Fields at 8:30 p.m.
