The Blue Demons won their third straight to improve to 3-1-0 on the season, topping the Golden Gophers via Jackie Batliner’s 27
th-minute game winner. Batliner buried a header off a feed from Avery Hay in the first half, while Mollie Eriksson made two saves to keep Minnesota off the board. The Blue Demons put up six shots on the night while the Gophers had seven attempts - both teams with four shots on goal.

#11 Georgetown 1, George Washington 0
The Hoyas scored a late goal in the second half to shut out the Colonials and advance to 3-0-2 while GW falls to 4-1. This marked GU's third shutout of the 2018 season. After being called offsides at the 71st minute, the Blue & Gray changed the possession back quickly as junior Carson Nizialek sought out senior Amanda Carolan at the net who snuck the ball in to give the Hoyas a 1-0 lead at the 72nd minute. This marked Carolan's first goal of the season and Nizialek's third assist. The Colonials tried to even the score but Georgetown's defense did not allow them near the net. Arielle Schechtman made five saves in the clean sheet.

#3 North Carolina 1, Providence 0
Shelby Hogan made six saves against the No. 3 Tar Heels, but UNC capitalized on a rebound in the 40
th minute to break into the scoring column and claim the win. North Carolina won the shots battle, 19-7, and limited the Friars (3-1-0) to just one corner kick while taking 12 of their own. Elayna Grillakis had three shots for Providence.

#25 Butler 1, Dayton 0
The Bulldogs (4-0-0) controlled the majority of the contest as Dayton played a defensive game to try and shutout the Butler offense. Butler had multiple opportunities in the first half, outshooting the Flyers 10-1. Starting goalkeeper Hannah Luedtke was not tested in the first half as the Flyers did not take a shot on goal. Persistence paid off in the 43rd minute with Katie Soderstrom taking a free kick near the goal line on the outside of the box. The freshman placed the ball in a perfect spot as it ricocheted off a Flyer defender and goalkeeper, into the back of the net. Dayton was more aggressive during the second half, taking seven shots compared to Butler's four. Leonie Doege played the second half in goal for the Bulldogs, shutting the Flyers out and making three saves.

Drexel 2, St. John’s 1
Despite narrowing its deficit to one in the closing minutes of the game, St. John's (2-3-0) was unable to overcome an early Drexel lead as the Red Storm fell to the Dragons at Vidas Field. Zsani Kajan recorded the Johnnies' lone goal of the match in the 88th minute off of a penalty kick. With her third tally of the young season, the redshirt sophomore has already surpassed her goal total from all of 2017. Meredith Reinhardt and Jordan Kamp turned away a combined eight shots between the pipes for the Johnnies against a solid Dragon's offensive attack.

#12 Duke 2, Marquette 0
Maddy Henry made a season-high seven saves and Marquette held No. 12 Duke off the board for 67 minutes before falling, 2-0, in the Duke Nike Classic on Thursday evening at Koskinen Stadium in Durham. Henry made six saves in the first half for the Golden Eagles (0-3-1), who were looking for their first win of the season and the second in their fourth matchup all-time against Duke. Mackenzie Pluck and junior Ella Stevens each scored second half goals for the Blue Devils (3-1-1), who out-shot their opponents from Milwaukee, 22-4.

RV West Virginia 3, Xavier 0
The Mountaineer offense overpowered the Musketeers (1-4-0), scoring a late first-half goal before adding two more over the final 45 minutes. WVU held a 29-2 advantage in shots and 9-1 lead in corner kicks. Toni Bizzarro made 10 saves for Xavier, most by a BIG EAST goalkeeper this season.
