#BIGEASTwsoc Minute: Non-Conference Play Concludes For Seven
A busy weekend saw seven teams play their final non-conference matchups of the regular season, while Marquette, Seton Hall and Villanova wrap up this week.
Weekend Review
Seven of the nine games played over the weekend were non-league regular-season finales for BIG EAST teams, as conference play kicks off this coming weekend. No. 10 Georgetown highlighted the group as the Hoyas topped Columbia 4-0 to finish non-conference play unbeaten (7-0-2) for the first time since 2008. Xavier shutout Miami (Ohio) for its fifth win in a row – the Musketeers’ longest win streak since 2003. St. John’s picked up a 3-2 win over Delaware, while Providence will enter BIG EAST play on a four-game unbeaten streak after a 1-1 draw at Arkansas.
St. John’s 3, Delaware 2
Paced by Christina Bellero's first career multi-goal game, St. John's recorded its fourth home win of the season, downing Delaware, 3-2, at Belson Stadium on Friday night. In addition to Bellero's two goals, Zsani Kajan continued her stellar effort on the season recording the game winning strike in the 73rd minute. With that, the Budapest, Hungary, native lifted her goal total to seven on the season. Kajan also dished out an assist on the evening, tallying three points in the team's victory over the Blue Hens.

#20 Oklahoma State 2, Creighton 0
Although the 20th-ranked Cowgirls claimed the win, the Bluejays were impressive as Creighton fired off 13 shots, including four on frame. In addition, redshirt freshman goalkeeper Katie Sullivan delivered a career-high 13 saves. Among Sullivan's stops she denied a penalty kick in the 86th minute. Sullivan's 13 saves ties for the fourth most in a single match in Creighton history. The total is tied for the second most at Morrison Stadium.

RV BYU 3, Marquette 0
The Cougars fired the first eight shots of the match and Maddie Gates scored first in the 18th minute from the center of the box off a feed from Elise Flake. Makaylie Moore scored right before the half on a diving header with 51 seconds remaining in the frame. Junior goalkeeper Maddy Henry made five saves for the Golden Eagles (1-6-1), who will face Milwaukee on Monday evening before opening BIG EAST Conference action next weekend.

#10 Georgetown 4, Columbia 0
The Blue & Gray held the possession for most of the game and it did not take long for the team to find its rhythm or enter the scoring column. Caitlin Farrell gave Georgetown the lead in the 10th minute on the left side of the 18-yard box. The senior had a clear opportunity to score once she was found by Paula Germino-Watnick across the field, who was given the assist. Georgetown outshot the Lions, 14-8, and took five corners to Columbia's three. Arielle Schechtman recorded four saves.

RV TCU 6, #23 Butler 1
The Bulldogs lost their second road game of the week, falling at TCU 6-1. Butler now sits at 6-3-0, TCU moves to 7-1-1. The Horned Frogs used a five-goal second half to push past the Bulldogs. Butler was awarded a penalty kick in the 61st minute that Annika Schmidt finished to put the Bulldogs on the board with 30 minutes to play. TCU answered with a penalty kick goal of their own in the 73rd minute to push the lead to 6-1 in the closing minutes.

Alabama 1, DePaul 0
In a back-and-forth physical game on both sides of the ball, DePaul dropped their final non-conference match of the season at Wish Field, 1-0, to Alabama (6-3-1) on Sunday afternoon. It wasn't until the 77th minute that the Crimson Tide would slip the ball past freshman goalkeeper Mollie Eriksson's hands. A header from Emma Thomson gave the team a go-ahead goal and it remained that way, despite some opportunities for DePaul to equalize.

Seton Hall 0, Central Connecticut State 0 (2OT)
Anna MacLean made a season-high 10 saves to secure her fourth clean sheet of the season, as Seton Hall women's fought Central Connecticut to a 0-0 draw on Sunday afternoon. In a game that featured a combined 41 shots, it was the goalkeepers that shined, totaling 19 saves as each team had its fair share of quality chances.

Xavier 2, Miami (OH) 0
Xavier closed out its non-conference schedule with a fifth-straight shutout win, topping the Miami RedHawks, 2-0, at home on Sunday evening. Xavier tallied twice in the first half and the Musketeer defense limited the Miami offense to just five shots, with one on-frame. Xavier moved to 6-4-0 as the Musketeers move into BIG EAST play next week.

Providence 1, Arkansas 1 (2OT)
Shelby Hogan tallied a career-high in saves, with 14, as the Providence picked up a draw against Arkansas, 1-1. The game was played on Razorback Field in Fayetteville, Ark. on Sunday. The Razorbacks took the lead in the 79th minute with a deflected ball that Stefani Doyle slipped by Hogan. Providence did not take long to respond as Amber Birchwell tied it up in the 84th minute with a right footed finish off of Casey Estey's cross.
