All About Bri

In their non-conference regular-season finales, Marquette and Villanova snagged one-goal victories at home on Monday night thanks to a pair of game-winning goals by players named Bri. In a rescheduled match against cross-town rival RV Milwaukee, the Golden Eagles (2-6-1) saw Bri Jaeger bury a header for the game-winning goal in the 73rd minute off a free kick by Katrina Wetherell. Maddy Henry had six saves in the shutout victory. At Villanova, the Wildcats found themselves down 1-0 in just the fourth minute but Bri Austin provided the penalty kick equalizer in the 33rd minute before nailing the golden goal in the 93rd from two yards out. VU’s six non-conference wins (6-3-0) are its most since 2009, when they went 7-0-1 in the non-league portion of the regular season before qualifying for the NCAA Tournament.
