NEW YORK – Marquette’s Hunter Eichhorn and Butler’s Katelyn Le have been named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week and BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week, respectively, after recording first-place finishes.  Eichhorn tied for medalist honors at the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills and Le won the Butler Fall Invitational.   
 
BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week
Hunter Eichhorn, Marquette, Jr. – Eichhorn picked up his second first-place finish in his last three events when he fired a 7-under 209 in the Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills.  His 54-hole score was the fifth lowest in tournament history.  Eichhorn put together rounds of 70, 67 and 72.  He tied USF’s Luke Gifford for medalist honors, while nailing down his fourth career victory.  Marquette finished ninth in the team standings at 879 (+15).
 
BIG EAST Female Golfer of the Week
Katelyn Le, Butler, Jr. – Le took medalist honors at the Butler Fall Invitational, posting a 2-over 72 in the final round, which was the low score of the day.  The junior entered the day one shot off the leader.  Le, who won her first tournament as a collegian, finished the 54-hole event at 221 (+11), two shots ahead of teammate Ally Ross.  The Bulldogs (914,+74) finished second among eight teams.
 
Men’s Notes – The Xavier duo of sophomore Trey Rath and junior Imaad Qureshi each shot 8-over 224 and tied for 20th place at the Health Plan Mountaineer Invitational at the Pete Dye Club in Bridgeport, W. Va.  Rath (79-73-72) recorded nine birdies and posted an under par round in his second straight tournament.  Queshi (75-76-73) led the team with 11 birdies.  Xavier finished sixth (of 15 teams) in the team standings, its highest finish of the fall…Seton Hall sophomore Deven Ramachandran shot an even-par 72 in the final round of the Hamptons Intercollegiate in East Hampton, N.Y., to finish in ninth place at 13-over par 229 (81-76-72).  The Pirates, who posted a 6-over-par 294 on the final day of the tournament, jumped a pair of teams and took fourth place.    
 
Women’s Notes Creighton captured its first tournament title in at least 20 years when it won the Creighton Classic.  The Bluejays rallied on the second day of the 36-hole event to finish four shots ahead of Northern Iowa.  Creighton shot 311 in the second round for an aggregate 617.  Sophomore Katie Allen again was the Bluejays’ leader with a total of 150, one shot behind the individual champion, Hannah Bermel of Northern Iowa.  It was Allen’s fifth straight top-11 finish which also lowered her fall scoring average to 75.6…Xavier junior Andie Shukow recorded her second top-10 finish of the season at the Yale Intercollegiate with a 5-over 218 (74-73-71).  Her third-round 71 moved her up five places into a tie for ninth place.  She has compiled two round of par or better this fall and five in her career.  Shukow carded 35 pars and seven birdies for the tournament.  Xavier finished seventh in the team standings.
