BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Tani Oluwaseyi, St. John’s, So., F/M (Mississauga, Ontario)

St. John’s sophomore forward/midfielder Tani Oluwaseyi recorded his first career brace on Friday night in the Red Storm’s 4-0 victory over Marquette in Milwaukee on Friday night. He registered a pair of second half goals to bump his season goal total to six, leading the league. His four-point performance tied for BIG EAST lead last week. The Red Storm, ranked No. 12 nationally last week, is alone at the top of the BIG EAST leaderboard at 3-0-0.
 
BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week
Love Frederiksson, Seton Hall, Jr., D (Angelholm, Sweden)
Seton Hall junior Love Frederickson played all 90 minutes in the back of the Pirates’ 1-0 win over Creighton on Friday night. The win helped Seton Hall move up to third in the current BIG EAST standings. Frederickson and the back line held Creighton to just one shot on goal, 12 total shots.
 
BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week
Carson Williams, Villanova, RS-So., GK (Plano, Texas)
Villanova redshirt sophomore Carson Williams earns his third weekly goalkeeper honor this season as he made five saves in his seventh shutout of the season on Friday. Williams helped Villanova to a 1-0 victory over Xavier, the first conference win for the Wildcats this season. Williams currently sports a season goals against average of 0.29.
 
BIG EAST Freshman of the Week
Brendan Hicks, Butler, RS-Fr., D/M (Phoenix, Ariz.)
Butler redshirt freshman Brendan Hicks scored two of the three goals in the Bulldogs’ 3-1 win at Providence on Friday night. Hicks scored in the 48th and 71st minutes of the contest. The goals were not only his first two career goals, but also came on his first two career shots. His first goal was the game-tying goal in the match. Hicks’ four-point performance tied for BIG EAST lead last week. The win was the first for Butler in conference action.
 
BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Gabriel Gjergji, Butler, So., G
Gjergji earned the win in Butler’s 3-1 victory in BIG EAST action against Providence on Friday. The sophomore made eight saves, one shy of his career-high. The one goal was scored in the eighth minute off a corner.
Drew Nuelle, DePaul, RS-So., G
Nuelle made 11 saves last week, eight in DePaul’s scoreless double overtime draw against No. 5 Georgetown in conference action. Earlier in the week, Nuelle made three saves in a 1-0 close loss to Notre Dame.
Rafael Bustamante, St. John’s, Jr., D
Bustamante helped lead a St. John’s back line that helped hold Marquette to four shots on goal, 12 total shots in the Red Storm’s sixth shutout of the season. Bustamante also scored the eventual game-winner in the 35th minute, his first career goal.
Andreas Nota, Seton Hall, Jr., GK
Nota was undeterred as he faced 12 shots in 90 minutes of action as he posted his second clean sheet of the season in a 1-0 win over Creighton on Friday. He made key stops, including a bullet from just outside the box in the first half, to preserve the shutout as well as cleared cross that were sent into the box.
Luca Mellor, Villanova, Sr., D
Mellor was critical in helping keep Xavier off the board on Friday as he led a back line that limited the Musketeers to 10 shots, five on goal in a 1-0 victory for Villanova.
