Hoppie leads St. John’s past Wake Forest while No. 19/20 DePaul scores large-margin win over Arkansas State.

19/20 DePaul 109, Arkansas State 64
The No. 19/20 Blue Demons (3-1) could not have picked a better time for a record-breaking performance in Friday's 109-64 victory over Arkansas State before a boisterous Field Trip Day crowd of nearly 2,000 that featured more than 1,600 schoolchildren. After setting a program record for points in a quarter with 45 in the opening 10 minutes, the McGrath-Phillips Arena partisans saw Jolene Daninger lead the scoring parade with 16 points, six rebounds and three steals. Five of her teammates also finished in double figures with Chante Stonewall turning in a 13-point, five-steal game. The emphatic win set up a top-25 showdown with No. 16/17 Miami on Saturday in the title game of DePaul’s Maggie Dixon Classic at McGrath-Phillips Arena.

St. John’s 82, Wake Forest 74
Behind stellar offensive performances from Qadashah Hoppie and Alissa Alston, St. John's (3-1) defeated ACC foe Wake Forest, 82-74, on Friday evening at Carnesecca Arena. With 23 points on the evening, Hoppie eclipsed the 20-point mark for the third-straight game. The junior guard is the first player to put forth such an effort since former St. John's standout Danaejah Grant scored 20-plus points in a program record seven-straight games during the 2015-16 season. Alston's 20 points marked the best of her Red Storm career. The New Haven, Conn., native drained six of her 12 tries from the field while converting on all three of her attempts from distance.

Lehigh 75, Seton Hall 68
Desiree Elmore had a team-high 20 points and a career-high 16 rebounds, but Seton Hall (4-2) was defeated at Lehigh, 75-68, on Friday. Seton Hall took a one-point lead into the fourth quarter, but it shot only 33.3% in the final frame, and was only 1-for-5 from downtown.  Although the contest remained a one possession game for most of the fourth, Lehigh took control late.  With 1:23 left in the game, Alexis Lewis hit a turnaround jumper to pull The Hall to within one point, 69-68, but the Mountain Hawks closed the game on a 6-0 run to close out their victory.
