New Mexico 86, Providence 68
Providence fell to New Mexico 86-68 in Tuesday’s opening round of the Lobo Invitational. After trailing by 16 at halftime, the Friars cut the deficit to nine points twice in the fourth quarter before New Mexico escaped with the game by way a 15-7 scoring advantage in the final four minutes. Mary Baskerville led the way for PC with her second double-double of the season with 10 points and 14 rebounds. Kaela Webb recorded nine points and a career-high five steals, while Alyssa Geary tallied seven points and matched her career-high with seven boards. Providence (8-2) outrebounded the Lobos 45-34.
