Marquette’s Grace Gabriel uses nine-point weekend to become program’s all-time points leader and garner top midfielder honors.

BIG EAST Attacker Of The Week
Ashley Guerra, Butler, So., A
Guerra posted one of the highest single-game point totals in the NCAA this season with her five-goal, five-assist outing in the Bulldogs’ win at Wofford on Wednesday. The 10-point afternoon is the sixth-highest by any Division I player this season and most in the BIG EAST since UConn’s Grace Nolan went for 10 points on April 18, 2018. Guerra added a goal in Butler’s setback at Furman on Friday for an 11-point week, tying Denver’s Quintin Hoch-Bullen for the BIG EAST’s weekly high.

BIG EAST Midfielder Of The Week
Grace Gabriel, Marquette, Sr., M
Gabriel became Marquette’s all-time points leader (172) over the weekend after collecting nine in a pair of wins. Her eight goals and one assist through the weekend propelled her past the previous program standard of 169 against Niagara on Sunday. The senior also added in 12 draw controls, scooped up four ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers to lead Marquette in its pair of victories. The Golden Eagles improved to 6-4 on the year with wins over Niagara and Canisius.

BIG EAST Defensive Player Of The Week
Haleigh Wurzel, Old Dominion, Grad., GK
Wurzel led the Monarchs to two wins last week thanks to a .575 save percentage and 8.50 goals against average in victories over East Carolina and Longwood. The graduate student made double-digit saves in both victories, beginning with 12 stops against ECU on Friday and followed by 11 against Longwood on Sunday. She allowed single-digit goals in both wins despite facing 62 total shots.

BIG EAST Freshman Of The Week
Alexa Moro, Villanova, Fr., GK
Moro posted a 1-1 record in net last week, earning a 16-8 win over Army with seven saves before denying 10 shots in an overtime setback to Richmond on Saturday. Moro’s double-digit saves against the Spiders marked her fourth such performance of the year. She currently ranks second in the BIG EAST with a 9.67 saves per game average, while her .486 save percentage lists third among all league keepers.

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll
Glory Johnson, Old Dominion, Jr., A
Johnson was the BIG EAST’s goals leader last week with nine scores in a pair of wins, going for six goals against East Carolina before adding three in a win over Longwood. She chipped in three ground balls and a draw control.
Audrey Schreck, Denver, Sr., D
The Schreck-led Denver defense allowed the fewest goal in a game this season by any BIG EAST team, surrendering just two scores to Gardner-Webb on Friday. The stingy total ranks eighth among all Division I teams this year. In the 1-1 week, No. 15/15 Denver outshot its opponents 66-36, including 52-23 on goal.
Liz Trojan, Villanova, Jr., A
Trojan recorded a total of 10 points in two games. She scored four goals and an assist against Army and did the same against Richmond. Two of her four goals against the Black Knights came on a free-position shot as well as one of her goals against Richmond.
