Non-Conference Conclusion
BIG EAST women’s soccer teams wrap up regular-season non-league play this week. Entering the final 16 non-conference matches, BIG EAST teams are a combined 35-31-7 (.527) in non-conference action with .500 or better records against 12 Division I conferences. Most notably, BIG EAST teams are 5-0 against Big 12 squads. The Big 12 finished as the No. 1 league in Division I in 2018. Creighton is responsible for three of those five victories, knocking off Kansas State (3-2), Iowa State (1-0) and Oklahoma (3-1). Providence has a chance to make it 6-0 against the Big 12 when the Friars travel to Texas on Thursday.

Riding a three-match winning streak, Georgetown moved up three spots in Tuesday’s United Soccer Coaches Poll to No. 12. The No. 12 slot is the Hoyas’ highest since their preseason ranking of No. 7. There are no matches against top-25 teams this week for BIG EAST teams, while Creighton will travel to Florida Atlantic on Sunday which is receiving votes.

The Bluejays won their fourth straight match and improved to 6-1 on the season with Tuesday’s victory at Kansas City. Creighton scored both goals in the final five minutes of each half, with Jordy Rothwell getting CU on the board in the 45
th before Kylin Grubb’s 86
th-minute game winner. Keelan Terrell earned her first career start in net for the Bluejays and collected her first career victory, making two stops. Just seven matches into the 2019 season, Creighton has already matched last season’s win total.
